Conference: How to Fix Distressed Property Markets?
The aim of the conference is to examine the policy options – fiscal, monetary and regulatory – which can aid or speed the recovery of housing markets. Accordingly, we welcome contributions concerned with the following issues: - What role can taxation and banking policy have in the recovery process – both regarding the macroeconomy and the financial sector - What are the appropriate policy levers, if any, to address undershooting property prices - What are the experiences of changes in personal bankruptcy legislations - What are the experiences of different degrees of aggressive/lenient repossession polices by banks?
