Public Policy Perspectives on Pensions Reform
The Financial Markets Group is organising a conference on, on the occasion of the recent publication of the first report of the Pensions Commission. Following the Pensions Commission’s invitation to comment on issues raised in the report, we would like to bring together a small group of experts with the goal to discuss policy relevant research in pension economics in areas such as: The impact of the DB to DC shift on contribution rates, wages and savings The role of non-pension assets and intergenerational transfers in pension provision. Incentives for voluntary retirement savings versus the need for compulsory savings. Global patterns of retirement savings and potential hazards in pension system designs. The cost structure of industry provided Pension products.
