RMIT Ecocity 2015 - Urban Ecology Symposium
The symposium will bring together experts, researchers and industry practitioners to address a growing need to enhance liveability, encourage biodiversity and reduce impact on the natural environment. The forum will address the following issues: - Urban planning: green retention, ecosystem services, landscapes to support biodiversity, building design sympathetic to ecosystem services - Transport: infrastructure, public vs roads, policy, future direction - Natural energy: generation, storage, distribution, closed loop systems - Human well-being: health, risk, climate response, urban determinants on health - Food: small footprint food production, delivery, packaging and reuse, alternate sources for nourishment - Circular economy: product stewardship, empathetic design, landfill avoidance, wealth from waste.
