The Future of Banking and Finance in China - Prospects and Challenges
The conference aims to intensify the knowledge exchange and collaboration between the Chinese and the European banking and finance communities about the ongoing changes of China’s financial system. It will bring together leading academics and decision-makers from the industry, as well as regulators from China and Europe, who will discuss the evolution and future of China’s banking and finance sector and its integration in the global financial markets against the background of the European experience. Moreover, it will provide a discussion platform for researchers, banking executives, media representatives and the interested public to exchange views on the issue. The leading questions of the conference are: - What is the future of China’s banking industry? - What lessons can be learned from the financial crisis by Chinese and European regulatory authorities? - Which steps have to be undertaken to establish Shanghai as an international financial centre?
