Analysis of cash usage, preferences and perceptions on Euro banknotes of the Maltese public

The Central Bank of Malta conducted a survey with the purpose of examining cash usage and preferred payment methods in Malta. Furthermore, the study investigated the perceptions of the Maltese public on Euro banknotes and coins. The results gathered from this survey have been analysed and are presented in this report. The Central Bank of Malta and other relevant stakeholders could benefit from this study by utilising the findings derived from this research for policy making purposes and to safeguard the integrity of the euro as a means of payment.
