Bangladesh’s Export Diversification : A Snapshot

With ready-made garments accounting for almost 85% of Bangladesh’s exports, limited export diversification remains a pressing issue for the country. This paper conducts a brief review of the literature to investigate potential explanations for why Bangladesh’s export revenue is heavily dependent on a few products and why diversifying export earnings is challenging. It identifies the factors contributing to the limited export diversification and concludes the discussion highlighting key areas of improvement
