Does Openness to Trade Have a Positive Impact on Economic Growth? Empirical Evidence from Bangladesh

International trade in Bangladesh is extremely modest in comparison to the size of the country's population, however, it has grown rapidly in recent years. It is not highly diverse and is subject to market swings on a global scale. This study examines the economy's performance in terms of crucial factors such as GDP growth, inflation, exports, and imports following trade liberalization. The study employs the simple Ordinary Least Square (OLS) approach to arrive at empirical findings. The findings of the study suggest that GDP growth accelerated as a result of liberalization. Trade liberalization appears to have had little impact on inflation in the economy. The quantitative research finds greater openness appears to have aided economic progress.
