"Entropy and information theory": critique, comments, and reply Entropy and information theory: are we missing something?
In this paper, some issues are raised concerning entropy-maximizing and information-theoretical approaches to spatial distribution modelling. It is argued that approaches based on information theory and the minimum-information principle may not always be satisfactory because they may not take into account all the known information characterizing the spatial system. It is concluded that this approach is not appropriate as a basis upon which to derive spatial distribution models.
