Precision Agriculture : Economic and Ecological Aspects
Concerns about better managing the world's agricultural resources while minimizing detrimental environmental impacts have been sparked by the growing global population demand and the requirement to increase agricultural production. Managing diminishing and finite resources requires knowledge about crops, pastures, and other agricultural resources. Thus, precision agriculture can help farmers become more competitive by lowering production costs. The adoption of precision agriculture has the potential to have a significant impact on the following aspects of agriculture: technical (better management for agricultural enterprises), agronomic (a higher level of agricultural production), environmental (negative impact on the environment may be reduced), and economics (higher productivity and lower costs generate positive economic effects). Precision agriculture will continue to develop in the future when more modern technology, environmental, and leadership skills are developed. This article explores the idea of precision farming, its introduction, the significance of some precision farming tools and equipment, the fundamental issues facing modern agriculture and obstacles to its adoption and advancement, and finally, the economic and environmental implications of precision farming technology
