Prvi investicijski test u Hrvatskoj

This is the first investment test carried out in Croatia and prepared in collaboration with IFO Institute from Munich. The test was carried out in the midst of 1997 and it was applied in: processing industry. construction industry and trade. The sample was large and the collaboration of interviewed firms good. thus the test in processing industry comprised over 50% of gross revenue and over 40% of employees. Somewhat less scope was in construction industry and trade. On the basis of test there were estimated investments per employed and total investments in 1995 and 1996 as well as the forecasting for 1997. The questions refered both to investment motifs and production capacities. The results of test lead to conclusion that investment level in observed years was low (in comparison with e. g. amortization) and that there are rather large differences within branches of processing industries. It is evident that in the restructuring process it is necessarv to stimulate investment swing in order to make up the losses in capital assets from the eightieth after debtor crisis and war devastations during the ninetieth.
