Self-Employment Does Not Outweigh Long-Term Unemployment : A Panel Data Empirical Analysis for Europe (1999 – 2009)

In the present paper it will be pointed out econometrically with panel data that in Europe self-employment does not outweigh long term unemployment rate. This finding is a comment on the work of (Glocker and Steiner, 2007). Panel data are used during the period 1999 – 2009 for the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and UK. The estimation of the econometric model is made feasible through the Eviews software package
