The Macroeconomics of Post-Transition : Has it Arrived?

Research on transition economics increasingly focuses on problems that characterize non-transition economies and uses methodology and models generally applied to the latter countries. This is particularly the case in macroeconomics. The implication of this is that economists are acting as if, at least in some transition economies, the transition is over. This paper uses several macroeconomic studies of transition economics to examine the implications of this approach for our understanding of the transition and for our ability to provide policy advice to these countries
