This year's conference holds a special significance as we celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Banco de la República de Colombia. The conference program co-chairs are Marla Ripoll for LACEA, Andrés Carvajal for LAMES, and Ángela Fonseca Galvis as Conference chair.

Authors are invited to submit theoretical and empirical papers. Papers will be evaluated and selected by the committee members in their specific area and association.

Authors may only present one paper in each track (LACEA and/or LAMES), but the same paper cannot be submitted to both tracks. However, each person is allowed to be co-author of several papers presented. Papers can only be submitted electronically.

The main objective of the Twentieth Annual Conference is to encourage debate on important economic issues for the region through the active and joint participation of academics, policy-makers, officers from international organizations and government, private sector economists, and students....

The meetings will run in parallel. Participants will be able to attend all sessions of both meetings.

The 2012 LACEA and LAMES meetings will share a common program, under a single local organization. By registering for LACEA-LAMES 2012, participants will be welcome to attend to all sessions of both meetings.

The Meeting will gather nearly 500 participants, including top academicians, national and local high-level policy makers, central bankers, scholars from around the world, junior and senior researchers, students in the social sciences, and members of the business community. The Conference will...
