9. Organizational behavior course with reflective thinking and student-centric experiential learning approach
This chapter introduces an educational paradigm shift that seeks to transcend conventional pedagogical methods of teaching and learning in classrooms. Student-Centric Experiential Learning (SCEL) draws upon Kolb's Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) and challenges the traditional separation of theory and practice in education. SCEL provides students with a more engaging educational experience that fosters a deeper and more personal connection to organizational behavior and management course content. In this chapter, I aim to introduce an educational environment where the mundane is replaced by the extraordinary. I do this through compelling narratives from students and my family and personal experiences, real-world applications of these experiences, and authentic student testimonials. SCEL fosters a genuine enthusiasm for learning in students by emphasizing enriched learning, assisting students in developing reflexive abilities, critical thinking, and cultivating practical knowledge. SCEL inspires a lifelong love of learning, leaving a lasting impression on students’ intellectual and emotional growth.
