A Comparative Analysis of the Information Economy in Developed and Developing Countries

The paper presents a comparative analysis of the information economy as a function of the stage of development. Modified input-output techniques are used to compare the information economy of the developed and developing countries using multipliers, linkages and leakage effects. The empirical results provide insights on the sectoral gearing ratios within the information economy,the causal mechanics linking the information economy and growth and development, the degree of information dependency of the developing on developed countries
