A Literature Review on The Executive Functions of The Brain and The Innovative Performance of Managers and Employees In The Workplace

Executive functions are cognitive abilities that enable people to effectively manage their performance. Efficient management of executive functions facilitates people's performance when people must think and act appropriate. The current research shows how the main aspects of executive functions (Inhibition, Working Memory and Shifting) will bring favorable consequences for intensifying creativity and innovative behavior in the workplace from the perspective of decision-making, planning and monitoring and problem solving. Our main goal is to supplement common explanations of creative thinking and cognition in the workplace from the lens of executive functions. Finally, we encourage future researchers to consider the important role of executive functions involved in the selection, training, leadership and management in the development of practical and new concepts in future research
