Adjoint linear systems in analog computation: A new look

The modified-adjoint method of Laning and Battin is a convenient and practical procedure for computing the mean square output of suitable linear time-variable systems, especially in control applications. This report proposes a simplified derivation of the modified-adjoint computer setup on the basis of simple operator algebra.
