Information security is a global challenge, and as even the computer systems of some of our most vital national security agencies and corporations have been hacked, preventing data intrusion must be regarded as a herculean task. Many of us have used such mental tricks as believing that we are too small to be hacked, or that with so many more tempting targets out there our anonymity makes the risk infinitesimal. It goes without saying that hiding behind these self-deceptions falls short of a reasonable effort to maintain cybersecurity.
