Age-specific job flows and worker flows using a national dataset
Based on a Taiwanese national population dataset covering the period from 1998 to 2002, we find a counter-cyclical pattern of separations and employer-to-employer transitions. The cyclical adjustments of the workforce are driven mainly by fluctuations in the hiring of young workers and by fluctuations in separations for prime-age and older-age workers.
