An indicator-based approach to assessing the environmental performance of European marine fisheries and aquaculture : scoping study

This scoping study forms the basis for the EEA's present and future development of indicators on fisheries and aquaculture. Based on a review of fisheries and aquaculture indicators developed by international and regional fisheries and environmental organisations, it presents a list of 52 potential candidate indicators. Twenty-nine of these are being recommended for inclusion in a core set of indicators on fisheries and aquaculture for coastal and marine as well as inland waters. A storyline links these indicators to each other and relates them to policy objectives.
