Analysis of K-Means Algorithm for Big Data Analytics Using R Language

Many of the organizations have to collect, store, and analyze extensively large amounts of data that is commonly known as “big data” and have the characteristics like volume, velocity, and variety. Big data makes a new trend of the decision-making process and the analysis of these data will predict the results based on the explored knowledge of information from the big data using the machine learning algorithms. The term machine learning means that to observe the data and make intelligent decisions without the human intervention. K-Means algorithm is a popular machine learning clustering algorithm. R language is a statistical language and used for data analysis. This study made an effort to implement the k-means algorithm using R language and find the clusters. The Accuracy of the K-Means algorithm found based on the normal values as well as normalized values for different datasets have been analyzed. The results observed are discussed in the implementation section of the paper
