Analysis of Role of Hierarchy and Role Stress as Predictors of Job Satisfaction : A Study Among Life Insurance Employees

Employees’ satisfaction and growth of an organisation are inter-linked. Satisfied employees are indispensable for the growth and development of any organisation. In the current scenario which is represented by severe competition and demand for better customer service, organisations are badly in need of employees who are highly dedicated, motivated and satisfied. Life Insurance Industry is not an exception to this. Insurance companies should periodically assess the satisfaction level of their employees and some actions should be initiated whenever required. This paper is an attempt to analyse the effect of hierarchy and role stress on job satisfaction .The impact of role of hierarchy and role stress on job satisfaction of workers differs according to the level of hierarchy and role assigned. The study attempts to assess to measure and compare the satisfaction level of various classes of employees. A wide range of variables influence job satisfaction, need is to conduct an in depth study and to broaden the area of investigation
