Analysis of RPA Development Tools

This chapter examines the landscape of the development tools used in RPA. Analysis includes key functionalities, usability, integration capabilities, security, and cost structure among the development tools in question. With increased attention of organizations to embracing RPA as part of efforts to cut costs and seek digital transformation, their need-to-know what tools are available becomes critical. This chapter presents a review of popular RPA platforms-UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism-to compare their functionalities, licensing models, and scalability. However, it also throws up the future pattern of how automation tools will have artificial intelligence, low-code/no-code environments, and cloud-based solutions as part of them. Organizations looking forward to implementing RPA solutions are given recommendations that require introspection regarding need assessment, the prioritization of security, and information being sought in industry advancements.
