Analysis of the 1999-2000 Annual Performance Reports for Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology.

Notes that a little over 40 percent of consortia used grant money to assess students' technology proficiency; another 32 percent did so but not as a grant activity. Nearly all grantees provided professional development, ranging from drop-in technical support to technology training, to improve teacher education faculty's comfort level and proficiency with technology. Program funding helped a large percentage (69 percent) of teacher preparation programs integrate the use of technology into their curricula.
