The cognitivization of text and discourse studies has been a fast and all-pervasive process. It seems safe to argue that nowadays almost every piece of research on text and discourse tags itself ‘cognitive'. However, the fact also makes one justified in asking what percent of all cognitive studies are really cognitive? What, in general, is truly cognitive?
