Assessing the ability of multi-purpose cooperatives to adapt to economic change : The case of the moshav Ovdim, Israel

The paper examines the influence of economic changes on the organizational pattern of the Moshav multipurpose cooperative, by means of a typology that highlights the main variations and presents them in an overall taxonomy of cooperative profiles. Of particular interest was the extent to which the Moshav cooperatives managed to adapt to a changing economic environment mainly with regard to new demands for export crops and the impact of government credit policies.
