Assessing the need for intervention at EU level to revise the European arrest warrant framework decision : research paper

This report examines the history and operation of the European Arrest Warrant scheme and the issues that have arisen. It considers in particular whether the European Arrest Warrant Framework Decision is effective, complete and consistent in it application, the relationship of the European Arrest Warrant Scheme with respect for fundamental rights and whether it is applied proportionately. Based on that, the report concludes that there is a need for further action at EU level.
