Bayesian Network based Cost Benefit Factor Inference in Eservices
This paper applies Bayesian network tecbnique tomodel and inference tbe uncertain relationsbips among costfactors and benefit factors in E-services. A cost-benefitfactor-relation modelproposed in our previous study is consideredas domain knowledgeand tbe data collectedtbrougb a survey is asevidence to conduct inference. Tbrough calculating conditionalprobability distribution among factors and conducting inference, this paper identifies tbat certain cost factors are significantlymore important tban others to certain benefit factors. Inparticular, this study found tbat 'increased investment inmaintaining E-services' would significantly contribute to'enbancing perceived company image' and 'gaining competitiveadvantages', and 'increased investment in staff training' wouldsignificant contribute to 'realizing business strategies'. Theseresults bave the potential to improve the strategic planning ofcompanies by determining more effective investment areas andadopting more suitable development activities wbere &servicesare concerned.
