Can software developers use linked data vocabulary?

One of the next research goals in Semantic Web-enabled software engineering is to naturally use Semantic Web data within arbitrary applications. This will in most cases require some kind of mapping between object-oriented and graph-based information representations. In this paper, we investigate how well Semantic Web vocabularies specified in different formats can be mapped onto object-oriented representations. We examine what a software engineer would expect from such mappings, and how well existing, widely used vocabularies meet these expectations. -- Design patterns ; linked data ; object-orientation ; RDF
