Certain Aspects of the Theory of Value in Soviet Economic Literature of the Twenties
The use of commodity -monetary relations in a socialist economy is one of the key problems in economic theory. In the very first days after the victory of the revolution, the necessity of resolving a number of practical problems - organization of commodity exchange, monetary circulation, calculation (assessment) of the products of labor, planning, etc. - raised the problem of value in Soviet economic literature. The theoretical questions proper - concerning the forces underlying the operation of the law of value within the socialist sector, the nature of value relations, etc. - were posed somewhat later, in the mid -twenties.
