Cesium Oven for Hust Negative Ion Source : Design and Functional Tests

Cesium will be evaporated inside HUST negative ion source to enhance the negative ion yield, by lowering the surface work function. In order to control the Cs vapour flux precisely, a temperature controlled Cs oven is developed. This paper introduces the design of the Cs oven body and temperature control system. After the manufacturing and assembly, some preliminary tests are carried out to verify the basic functions, such as temperature control and SID diagnosis
