Challenges of Post Pandemic Transition-Work from Home or Work from office?

There is significant increase in the number of people working from home due to pandemic. The sudden transition to the ‘new normal’ has left its mark on the minds of the people. This study attempts to find out the experiences of people during work from home (WFH) and comparing them with their experiences of work from office (WFO). A factor analysis revealed that although people have developed a preference for work from home, they miss the formal office environment and its positive impact on work efficiency. Our study reveals that people have developed a renewed sense of confidence of delivering a standalone performance by reducing dependence on colleagues who are not easily accessible. The timing of this research is most relevant as it was conducted after people spent significant amount of time in work from home. The findings of the research will be helpful to the organizations while taking work from home versus work from office decisions in the post pandemic times
