Change is a way of life at Konica Minolta : Employees trained to make their mark in customer service
Purpose – This paper aims to describe the impact of constant organizational change on human‐resource management at print‐services company Konica Minolta. Design/methodology/approach – The paper considers the company's recruitment, employee‐development and benefits policies and includes interviews with members of staff. Findings – The paper furnishes details of a new “join us” area on the company website, where people are able to explore Konica Minolta's equality and diversity policies and details of people‐development activities, meet the leadership team, understand what staff think about working for the organization, apply for live vacancies and register an interest in working for Konica Minolta in the future. Practical implications – The paper highlights the importance of good customer service at Konica Minolta. Social implications – The paper details ways in which people can be encouraged to welcome change and adapt to it easily. Originality/value – The paper provides a number of first‐hand accounts from employees who work at Konica Minolta.
