Changing Rules of Sales : International and Hungarian Regulation of Export Contracts

The study's apropos is the new Hungarian Civil Code's (HCC) coming into effect from 15th March, 2014. Since the Hungarian civil law is under a great change these days, we should analyze the adopted rules and compare them to international standards. Among these, the Convention on International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the proposal of the Common European Sales Law (CESL) seems obvious as these documents are the basis of the export business in the EU. We will see that the new Hungarian Civil Code adapted much of these international rules and came closer to fundamental principles of international commerce
