Chapter 20. Retail inventory systems

Retail is one of the major application domains of inventory management. In this chapter, we review different problems in retail inventory management, summarize the required data and performance indicators and then give an overview of strategic, tactical and operational decision support. In particular, we focus on the multi-product, multi-stage and multi-location aspects of inventory management under dynamic and stochastic demands.
