China's unending journey from periphery to metropole

The 'Metropole' versus 'Perpheri' formulation used in the paper is the adaption of the Prebisch-Frank model in analysing world economic development. Adapting this formulation, the author explores China's socialist politico-economic phenomenon and the dynamism of its future development. He notes that in order to realize its Metropole dream, China will have to make headway in competing with the leaders of various industries for the world market. (DÜI-Sen)
