Circular Economy as an Opportunity for the Development of Inland Waterway Transport (the Case of Danube River)

The main purpose of the publication is to analyze the integration of the Danube inland waterway transport (IWT) to the circular economy. The relationship between economics of transport and circular economy will be studied. The analysis will be based on the application of econometric models. Based on statistical data for the transportation of recycling products and plastic waste via Danube inland waterway transport, there will be studied the possibilities for development of IWT in the light of circular economy.
