Comparative Analysis of Training and Development Programmes Of KSCF And KSSFC : An Empirical Investigation On CEOs Perception
The regulation and development of cooperatives in Karnataka has carried out fewer than two statutes namely the Karnataka Cooperatives Societies Act, 1959 and the Karnataka Souharda Sahakari Act 1997. The cooperatives registered under Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act, 1959 may themselves convert to Karnataka Souharda Sahakari Act, 1997, if they do not have a Government share capital, subsidy, loan and any type of assistance on one hand and any new society to be established may be formed under Karnataka Souharda Sahakari Act, 1997. Thus Karnataka has two types of cooperative societies operating under these two pieces of legislation. Training and development has received increasing investments in recent times with the belief that it is a vital pillar and leading resource of every organization that contributes to build professionalism in Chief Executive Officers(CEO)working in Cooperatives so that the effectiveness and performance of employees and the productivity of an organization would be considerable. Objectives of the study are to understand the conceptual framework of training and development practices of the federations and to examine and compare the training and development programmes designed by the cooperative federations, particularly, perception of CEOs regarding post training and development programmes. Sample for the study were 400 Cooperatives each from KSCF and KSSFC have selected on the basis of random sampling, whereas CEOs from each of the cooperatives were respondents. The analysis depicts null hypothesis is rejected by accepting the alternative hypothesis proving that there is a significant difference between KSCF and KSSFC in respect to post training perception on training and development programme. Findings reveal that, KSSFC has well designed training and development program to help CEOs to perform their duties effectively for the success of Cooperatives
