Competencies for Globalised Management Era : Convergence and Divergence of Contents and Constructs

Global competency for management professionals are becoming an essential attribute for sustaining in the global era. Any manager without the global competency is not being able to contribute to global thinking. Although various construct namely Transnational Competency cross-cultural competence, inter-cultural competence, multicultural competency and global competency, it has been found that the concept of globalization is specifically address only under Global Competency construct/model found the convergences of contents of various constructs. More or less same elements are been addressed under different terminologies. It has been also observed that Global Competency being more recent concept has incorporated most of the contents of previous constructs for global issues and thinking through management pedagogy in high profiled professional development. This paper contextualizes the managerial competencies in the globalized management era.
