Considerații privind influența lucrărilor de exploatare a lemnului asupra regenerării pădurii
Forest cuttings are silvicultural operations for timber harvesting. Their diversity depends on nature and status of the forest, type and intensity of silvicultural treatments and tending operations. Forest regeneration depends on the application of such cuttings. Harvesting operations could be: non-selective (clearcuts), selective (e.g., tending operations, uniform shelterwood cutting, group shelterwood cutting, the two of them combined), continuous (single tree selection, group selection), for ecological restoration, sanitation cuttings, pruning, illegal cuttings. Harvesting operations have ecological and silvicultural effects on: stand development dynamics, soil, wildlife, diseases and insects, etc. Economic effects of regeneration cuttings are represented by the quantity, timber assortments resulting from the harvest and the sales of timber.
