Corruption Networks and the Balance of Power in Egypt's Arab Spring
A key question for Egypt's long-term economic and political prospects of is whether the "rent-seeking coalition" consisting of a network of National Democratic Party (NDP) members and military officers has been truly uprooted by the fall of Mubarak's regime. We investigate this possibility by examining the behavior of firms and the perceptions of financial investors in the Egyptian stock market.
