John Wesley quoted Luke 16 8-9 as the basis for his sermon on the Christian obligationtowards money. He concluded that Christians are obliged to earn all they can, save (i.e.not spend) all they can and give all they can. This verse and Wesley's observations suggest that Christians have an obligation to use their financial resources wisely
