Decent Work, Standards and Indicators

Recently, there has been an effort to construct more qualitative indicators to measure international labour standards. These indicators include grading by experts, coding of legislation and other textual sources. This paper uses normative indicators to construct country profiles that help to map progress towards decent work. The profiles mostly focus on occupational safety and health (OSH) which analyzes OSH policy, the scope of application, methods of implementation, preventive and protective measures, organizational frameworks, mechanisms and measures, powers, obligations, duties, and rights and migrant workers. The paper also studies surveys sent to member states of the International Labour Organization and secondary sources used to build these country profiles
