Demographic and development planning in oil economies : an uneasy consensus ; the case of Kuwait

This paper reviews the recent development plan of Kuwait, which is designed to rectify structural imbalances. It focuses on the macro-economic model, which is used to test alternative policy measures under different oil price scenarios. From this review, the paper concludes that these policy measures exclude some critical structural issues and, accordingly, are based on an incomplete diagnosis. (DSE)
