Designing Efficient Hydrogen Support – System Features from an Electricity Tso Perspective
The ramp-up of the hydrogen economy is crucial for a carbon-neutral energy system. This paper presents six design features for a support mechanism for hydrogen technologies: it should be tailormade for specific hydrogen applications, neutral towards hydrogen production technologies, related to investments instead of production, support a smart integration of hydrogen systems to be beneficial for the system, account for locational aspects to ensure efficient infrastructure investment and incentivize electrolysers to provide ancillary services
