Developing Humanistic Management Research (Chapter 7)

This chapter argues that management research should dedicate itself to understanding managerial practices that improve the world. The overarching question for humanistic management research is how organizational practices can be transformed to protect and promote human dignity and, ultimately, achieve well-being and flourishing. There are several ways to transition towards this kind of humanistic management research. These pathways are represented in Figure 7.1
