Disaster Risk Reduction in Latin America and the Caribbean through Environmental Management and the Use of Economic Instruments

This second presentation discusses: 1) A framework of incentives for risk management; 2) The identification of economic instruments for environmental and natural resource management; 3) Strategic actions to reduce the risk of disasters by means of environmental management economic instruments; 4) Proposals on more applicable economic instruments for the countries in the region. This presentation was presented by the Natural Disaster Network of the Regional Policy Dialogue for the 4th Hemispheric Meeting held on February 26th and 27th, 2004.
