Discrete-time Glauber model as a generalized Ehrenfest urn model

Glauber's continuous-time stochastic model for relaxation of spin systems is “imbedded” in discrete time as a Markov chain. The chain is a generalization of the Ehrenfest urn model as formulated by Hess. Some properties of the chain are discussed.
