The neo-liberal class of Russia is not numerous (10-15%). However, it is growing at the expense of students and graduates. And of course, we have to think about their ability to work in international markets. For example, only the first half of 2015 several serious delegations from Asian countries visited Saint Petersburg with numerous offers. For them it is important that constant communication in English has been provided. However, even in 2014 (especially in the midst of Ukrainian crisis political events) during our preliminary studies, students were told that the English language is not necessary for both: work and life.So we are willing to economic rationale for the introduction of English in the teaching of business subjects in the courses "Advertising" and "PR". We will mention here the basic calculations. Small-scale Research Design: - Data collection: We took as the basis the popular job vacancies The controlled vacancies are: • Marketing, Advertising, PR, Sales • Real estate • Administrative staff • Tourism, hotels, restaurants The problem with these vacancies is as follows: they need well-developed communication skills, so it is always difficult to find personnel. Socio-economical context: In St. Petersburg, there is one of the lowest unemployment rates. In mid-2014 the unemployment rate according to the International Labour Organization was 1.1% of the economically active population. By the middle of 2015 under the impact of sanctions and the crisis there is a slight increase - to 1.4%. In February, 2014 officially registered is 11 thousand 300 unemployed people, but 80 thousand jobs remain unfilled. In fact for the city an acute shortage of qualified personnel is a typical. Research question: How does the English language knowledge influence the number of vacancies, requirements for the position and salary. - The research was carried out in March-April 2015. - The study is not representative. The obtained data are of limited use. - This study was conducted in according with the Professional Ethical Code of Sociologists by the Russian Society of Sociologists (RSS). Results: In St. Petersburg, we found 10,927 vacancies; from them in 1,153 vacancies English is a requirement (10.55%). The average salary is 45,300 rubles (without English) and 57,253 rubles (English is a requirement). It is 26% more. Thus, knowledge of English can bring a quarter of monthly salaries! However, the work experience is also requirement. Vacancies (English is a requirement) are without experience only 17%, whereas without English there are 33%. In Moscow, we found 37,579 vacancies; from them in 4,843 vacancies English is a requirement (12.89%). The average salary is 59,400 rubles (without English) and 70,723 rubles (English is a requirement). It is 19% more. In Moscow, the extra charge for English is a little less. The work experience: Moscow has without experience only 12% vacancies (English is a requirement), whereas without English there are 40.57%. Thus, we see a real encouragement of employers for employees with knowledge of English. English brings good money to supplement salaries.
