Economic Concepts Retention of Students of University

This study determined the concepts retention of general economic courses University of. A total of 299 fourth year and third year students were chosen as respondents. A very large number of students indicated remembering a bit or some of the economic concepts taught to them. Only a handful was indicating very high retention, and two indicated to have not remembered anything.The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed 6 constructs that showed similar correlation pattern showing the grouping of economic concepts that were retained by the students. The principal component analysis method and orthogonal rotation method were used. These factors were lessons covered in introductory economics; concepts on production analysis and macroeconomic analysis; the schools of thought; the national income and the mode of pricing in the market; the economic framework of the mind with relation to game theory; the concepts that show relation of the population and income; and the welfare economics indicating the use of HDI and the environment and climate economics.Parametric test revealed no statistical significance of the chosen characteristics to the students' degree of retention of the indicated concepts though the model fit on the data
